Established Engineering practice open first UK office at Wharfebank Mills.

Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD) Consulting Engineers choose Otley as the location for their first UK branch, benefiting from close links to their Dublin head office via Leeds-Bradford Airport.  Entering their forty fifth year, ROD is one of Ireland’s leading civil, environmental and structural engineering consultancies. A long-standing track record of planning, designing and managing major infrastructure developments features projects such as the iconic Samuel Beckett Bridge, Dublin.

Their aim is to provide a fully integrated engineering design service, employing a multidisciplinary team of more than 170 people, an approach that has produced much success. Most recently, as one of the designers of the Northern Spire Bridge in Sunderland, ROD won the Geoscience Ireland award at the Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards in November 2018.

Company Director, Jim Thorpe, will lead the team based at Wharfebank Mills in a period of expansion that sees ROD securing its growing position in the UK market, while offering Yorkshire based Engineers and Technicians the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects across Britain and Ireland.

Roughan & O’Donovan take occupation of their 1,690 ft2, newly refurbished office unit in June this year.
