Pegholme top floor refurbishment on track

Two years after Wharfebank Mills, Otley, changed hands, the new owners continue to fulfil their promise to develop this picturesque and prominent estate, breathing new life into the former textile mill to make it fit for purpose well into the 21st century.

To date they have undertaken to replace the old fire alarms; to replace sections of old roofing; to provide new branding and signage; and to upgrade communal areas.

A shower and a bike store were added to accommodate the many cyclists and runners on site, following a consultation with tenants when we first took over the site in December 2016.

Now Phase III involves renovating the top floor of Pegholme, the largest building on site, to create 4 x 410 sq ft units and 1 x 580 sq ft unit, to meet demand from local businesses.

These new officespaces offer light, bright, and up to date work environments while still retaining some of the old features, as a nod to the building’s historical past.

With communal break out areas and modern shared kitchen facilities it is unlikely that these offices will remain empty for long!

The corridors have now received the same branding as the ground and first floor, with a personnel lift planned for early 2019 to replace the existing goods lift. This will open the middle and top floors to all, and make the whole building accessible.

Of course, this could not be achieved without the patience and understanding of our existing tenants, on the floors below, as we continue to improve Wharfebank Mills and make it a place that tenants and staff will enjoy working in for years to come. Many thanks to them for their support.
